Daynja - wus

Flash's newest word is dangerous. (Well, it sounds more like "daynja-wus.") He says it most often in reference to climbing on top of things he knows he's not supposed to climb on, standing on chairs, etc. But this morning as we were leaving the house in a heavy rain, he pointed to the water running off the roof and said "dangerous!" I told him it wasn't dangerous and let him put his hand under the water.

Camping

We took Flash for his first overnight camping trip last weekend. He had such a great time. I hope it will be the first of many such excursions. When he first saw the river, he exclaimed, "Ocean!" We saw a huge wild owl sitting in a tree near our campsite, not to mention lots of caterpillars and bugs and plants. Sure, it was only car camping, but I think it's a great start to Xander's camping career. Right as he was about to fall asleep in the tent, his last words were, "All done park. Time go now." He was wishing for his bed at home. But he ended up sleeping just fine, and talked about the camping trip all the next few days at daycare. Hooray!
